Matron: You've had this watch all this time. Why didn't you return?
Tim: Because it was waiting. Then, because I was so scared... of the Doctor.
Matron: Why?

The Doctor: [quickly and almost whispering] Stop it.
Tim: He's ancient and forever. He burns at the center of time and can see the turn of the universe.
